741.212 Marriages between persons of the same sex.—
(1) Marriages
between persons of the same sex entered into in any jurisdiction,
whether within or outside the State of Florida, the United States, or
any other jurisdiction, either domestic or foreign, or any other place
or location, or relationships between persons of the same sex which are
treated as marriages in any jurisdiction, whether within or outside the
State of Florida, the United States, or any other jurisdiction, either
domestic or foreign, or any other place or location, are not recognized
for any purpose in this state.
(2) The
state, its agencies, and its political subdivisions may not give effect
to any public act, record, or judicial proceeding of any state,
territory, possession, or tribe of the United States or of any other
jurisdiction, either domestic or foreign, or any other place or location
respecting either a marriage or relationship not recognized under
subsection (1) or a claim arising from such a marriage or relationship.
(3) For
purposes of interpreting any state statute or rule, the term “marriage”
means only a legal union between one man and one woman as husband and
wife, and the term “spouse” applies only to a member of such a union.

Judge: Orange County clerk can issue same-sex marriage licenses

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla.
The Orange County Clerk of Courts can begin issuing same-sex marriage licenses on Jan. 6, 2015, according to a judge's ruling.
The clerk's office filed an emergency petition Tuesday to get a clear ruling on the matter.
Judge Timothy R. Shea granted the petition, paving the way for the office to issue the licenses.
"In issuing a same-sex marriage license the Honorable Tiffany Moore Russell, Orange County Clerk of Court for Orange County Florida, would not be engaging in a violation of either criminal or civil laws of the State of Florida," the ruling said.
A federal judge previously declared Florida's ban on gay marriage unconstitutional and said same-sex marriage licenses could be issued in the state after Jan. 5 unless the Supreme Court intervened. The Supreme Court

AirAsia Flight QZ 8501 Goes Missing - CNN NEWS REPORTS
An AirAsia flight traveling from Indonesia to Singapore has gone missing. The Indonesia Transport Ministry is reporting that the flight, QZ 8501, lost contact with air traffic control at 6:17 a.m. local time, according to Reuters. Early reports suggest that the plane, an Airbus 320-200, had 155 passengers and crew aboard. Hadi Mustofa, an official with the ministry, noted the plane began to take an unusual path before contact was lost.

Man impersonates Police And Pulls People Over In Hernando County Florida
Deputies said James Buck activated the flashing lights mounted on his SUV in an attempt to chase and pull over another driver on Mariner Boulevard Thursday night.
The victim called 911 to report the high-speed chase, which lasted for 3.7 miles, investigators said.
Deputies arrived at the scene and pulled Buck over. They found two silver shield-style badges inside Buck’s car and in his wallet, investigators said.
Deputies said they also discovered several L.E.D. flashing lights, a siren, a front-facing surveillance camera and a DVD of the movie “Let’s Be Cops” inside Buck’s SUV.
Buck told deputies he installed the police-related equipment so that “no one would mess with him,” investigators said. He was arrested and charged with fraud.

The Florida Lottery is not celebrating its latest winner after it found out he is a convicted sexual predator.
Timothy Poole, 43, posed for a photo after claiming a $ 3 million Super Millions prize this week.
When the photo was released, people recognized him as a registered sex offender.
He was arrested back in 2001 for sexual battery on a child under 12 and served three years in prison.

There is no law that prohibits sexual offenders from playing and collecting lottery winnings.

The Golf name derives from the German word for Gulf Stream — and the period in its history when VW named vehicles after prominent winds, including also the Passat (after the German word for Trade wind), Jetta (after the Jet stream), Bora (after Bora) and Scirocco (after Sirocco).
